My top 10 songs No.9

The oldest of my top 10, and there are a whole load of rocking songs from the 70′s and 80′s I’d like to have chosen such as Rainbow – Since You’ve Been Gone, or Dio – We Rock to name just 2. However making it into number 9 is one of my mum’s favourite bands and one I grew up listening to appreciating….

The majestic Ultravox, lead by the forgotten man of Band Aid, Midge Ure. The Voice is a fantastic song not only for the backing vocals of the support band Messengers, but at the end of the song the drummer Warren Cann is joined in acoustic hitting by the other 3 members on the front of the stage delivering a masterful drumming 4 piece performance. Pure brilliance. Hearing the end always leaves me with goosebumps, and a heavy heart knowing I’ll never get to see it live in person.
